This project is a collaboration between Mady Sauri, Anna Feeney, Una Nei, and me. We were tasked with making a short animation which tells a complete story to be displayed during Paper Whale's folk festival, Fire and Story, in January of 2026.
Script:
From the darkness and stars in the sky, a sprite emerges. It drops down into the forest, like a shooting star, and falls through the trees. We are now in the forest following after the sprite which has taken off into the woods. We follow it past the animals of the forest. The sprite goes by an owl, a moose, and a ram. The camera is led past rocks to a bonfire where pagan spirits appear and surround the bonfire. We zoom in on one of the spirits to a close up on the eye where the fire is reflected. We cut to the bonfire growing through the forest until it is seen from the tops of the trees and the embers become a sprite and fade back into the sky.
