I was tasked with making a title sequence based on a book or movie. Upon choosing the book Rebel, by Marie Lu, I decided to focus on the sci-fi and dystopian elements of the novel. I represented this with a glowing blue print approach to reflect the atmosphere of the book.
The book takes place in Ross City, Antarctica, a sci-fi landscape in which "levels" determine ones worth in society. Throughout the book the changing perspective on the level system determines how the audience perceives the city, and plot, as a whole. This is why I based my design on the locations and structures which set the tone of the story.
I used a glowing blue print approach to the design to convey the presence of advanced technology and the futuristic atmosphere.
